There are two big things wrong with this interface:
- The people whom I follow are interspersed with people I don’t follow. As a user, I care most about the people I follow. Those should be grouped together at the top of the list.
- The list is in no discernible order. When you have lists of hundreds or thousands of items, they should be in some order that the user can figure out. Twitter has a challenge in that not everyone uses a full name, so you likely would have to order by handle. But that’s still better than nothing.
